Raising Awareness for Poison Prevention and Safety with Anniversary Art
One Of A Kind collaborated with the American Association of Poison Control Centers to create striking, informative 3-dimensional art in honor of their 60th anniversary. The piece was used to raise awareness for poison prevention and safety, reaching an even broader audience through educational posters.
The diamond-shaped collage includes a black lacquer base and slanted inner sides featuring a border of poisonous plants, animals and pills on letters that spell out the organization’s name. The bottom slanted inner sides are red, with the AAPCC timeline and Board Chairs printed in white. The frame is silver sculpted with red pinstripes and black sides.
The centerpiece is a vintage telephone receiver with the AAPCC Poison Help logo in color, in 3D layers. At the top point is a plaque engraved with the founding AAPCC Statement of Objectives from 1958. A dedication plaque is at the bottom point.
The AAPCC story flows counterclockwise from the top center, and features photos, news articles and 3D items. 3D items include an early cellular phone, an iPhone, early and recent medicine bottles, a black widow spider and a scorpion.
The organization, now known as America’s Poison Centers, currently represents 54 Poison Centers across the U.S. with the unifying goal of preventing every poison and toxin-related health emergency in America. Expert advice is just a phone call away at 1-800-222-1222 and always available 24/7/365.
